Charity case
So, the IRS is notoriously backlogged with resolving applications for charity status: when my $PROJECT filed for nonprofit status back in December, we didn't really expect to hear anything back for 8-12 months at least.
But today, our lawyers got a letter from the IRS. We have 501(c)3 status, after a mere 74 days. Everybody is pretty surprised, but we're not about to question it.
Woot! Now I'm finally a charity case! I should do something to celebrate.
Edit: To celebrate, I'm baking cookies.
